A few years back while I was living in Boston, MA, I organized a meet up group called "Pool, darts and beer." The idea was not only to enjoy these fun activities but also to meet other people and places around town. The idea here is the same as before: maybe meet every two weeks or once a month for starters at different places around town. Some times to play pool, others to play darts, and always to drink beer! :) I usually prefer pool to darts but find both enjoyable. I must admit that I suck a …
This group is for pool enthusiasts who enjoy light, fun games of pool without competitive pressure, rigid rules, or league/tournament structure. It’s all about being social and having a good time, win or lose. Sharks who can’t have fun unless they’re winning can go swim in someone else's waters. Most meetups will be two hours long and held at our sponsor, the Uptown Billiards Club, on NW 23rd. Kent Lewis, UBC’s owner, has graciously agreed to partner with us to ensure the best possible experien …

What? Really underwater hockey? Underwater Hockey is a fast-paced, fun-filled sport for athletes of all ages. Unlike its on-ice counterpart, underwater hockey is a non-contact sport. While some jostling and bumping may occur, especially in competitive play, contact is generally not allowed, and focus is on fitness, teamwork and finesse. Underwater hockey is played in a swimming pool by two teams of up to 10 players each (6 active and 4 substitutes). The puck is made of lead, with a brightly-col …

Have you played with the family all day or week and are now ready to enjoy some guy time? Miss the days when you can have a drink with the guys or go out to a testosterone fueled action movie? I'm lucky if I only work 40 hours and I think that I'm still a good mother though new at it! This is [will be] a group for moms/dads with young kids trying to figure out how to juggle work and family while still finding time for themselves. I'm based in NE Portland and will next to never head over to the west side unless it's downtown, the Children's Museum, and to the zoo. Special events are my exception, so I'll primarily be posting activities W. of 82nd and N. of Powell. I see this group as …
